IMG1- Location plan and deployment - The megalithic monument Almendres Cromlech is located 12 km west of the city of Évora, near a hill belonging to the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe. After knowing the area of intervention and the place to intervene, it was decided that the proposal should be sensitive to the megalithic monuments, promoting a unique experience in the landscape.

IMG3- The model - As materialization of the proposal was crucial to understanding the relationship between volume measurement of the building proposed, the existing context and the archaeological monument.

IMG4- Visitors Center for indoor/outdoor - The basic idea of the project is in the confrontation between the almendres and the nature in which you enter: highlighting a central volume of the proposal, which penetrates the visual area of Almendres Cromlech, and which has a slope aligned with the axis of symmetry, allowing the transition between the outer space/pool and the distribution inside the project that is materialized by the exception in the design of sculptural staircase.

IMG5- Visitor Center, museualisation with visualization of Cromlech - it created a course of procedure since the reception, galleries to the object property, pretending that the tourist to acquire knowledge, as you move through the internal spaces, always having visual contact with the site through the large glazed go, setting with greater ease the dialog with the element that visit.

IMG6- The wetted materials - designed in accordance with the conceptual approach performed. It was decided to create a single constructive language on a rugged, being the option constructive and the language architectural fruit of a compositional logic, supported in materials, which reinforce the idea (dichotomy between the stone of almendres and the white concrete of the proposal). However, the spaces of tasting and not present exhibition a sense of acceptance and visual comfort generated by the grid of wood, highlighting the part museualisat and allowing another dichotomy of materials (concrete white-wood).

The project is in the interests of protecting the memory of Almendres Cromlech, believing that the visitors center is an asset for the preservation of heritage.
The proposal was designed so that visitors don't have immediate contact with the Cromeleque creating a proposal below the higher. Volumetry was drafted so that it had a subtle presence but yes, with the intention of uncovering progressively the motion causing curiosity and fascination. It is a proposal full of dialectical: austerity/heat, curiosity/knowledge, contemporaneity of materials (concrete) /past archaeological value (stone), outline/proposal, insertion/model.
