Parque Eduardo VII
The proposal seeks the reinvention of the park according to the design of the architect Francisco Keil do Amaral, while simultaneously making it more amenable for new crossings through the building integration, making it a fully permeable system.
Overlapping the biggest areas of the programme and combining different functions in the same space allows maximum flexibility and spatial interaction, making the building a compact core and releasing the garden area.
Complementary spaces are organised around the auditorium which occupies a central position, the exhibitions area and offices are designed as hybrid spaces to easily adapt to the constantly changing programme.
The structure and materiality blurs the boundary between the outside and inside and dissembles the building into the natural landscape.
The building is part of the urban structure of the park emerging as a link between the spaces and the main paths. It becomes a way to cross the park.
