In the intervention site there are several horizontal layers, physical, immaterial, natural or artificial that give different speeds to the territory, from the speed of light to the speed of natural growth of the plants and that translate into viaducts, bridges, natural water flows (stream), power grid and agriculture. The wound generated by the periurbanization since its emancipation as a city, caused problems in the urban mesh and in its road network. The road structure that now exists literally divides the territory and makes pedestrian connections difficult

The stilt system emerges as a result of connections facilitation by Lisbon´s subway, becoming a catalyst for communication and greater proximity. These types of connections happen at different moments due to the need to create privacy on the routes. Thus, the proxi-conection will be a set of infrastructures constituted by dwellings, accesses and communitarian gardens.

The construction of this village, provides a new system of mobility in the territory, prioritizing local resources (mainly through the sale of vegetables from the garden) in order to anticipate a period of increasingly changing weather and natural resources shortage.

The housing module final design of was the result of inputs generated by the site, especially the noise wave and the need to transform the traditional rectilinear model in order to facilitate the joining of the modules in harmony with the preexisting infrastructure.

The project consists of an autonomous system that integrates the environment with its natural factors and architecturally approximates the existing infrastructures. Thus, it associates architecture and technology with the purpose of channeling energy, water, food, waste and flows into a single "enterprise" in order to reduce dependence on centralized external infrastructure networks.

This new urban reality, proposed in this dissertation, entails the implementation of a socioeconomic structure capable of sustaining a future focused on ecological and sustainable policies able of generating a set of strategic and competitive tools as opposed to those imposed by the metropolis.

SISTEMA PALAFITICO COMO MODELO DE ATIVIDADE E OPORTUNIDADE SOCIOECONÓMICA
Industrialization brought with it a powerful tool for men, the machine. The integration of the automobile into society´s daily life has restructured the urban space, and what once was a genuine space has become a diffuse urban landscape, divided by infrastructures that connect the urban side to the suburban. Odicandles  ® is a good example of the intersection of road infrastructures that break the continuity of the territory in the North /south direction. These facts alongside with biophysical factors and historical reports of floods have led to the study of the site. Through digital simulation it was possible to conclude that the infrastructures (bridges and viaducts) are the locations that ensure a greater level of safety. Taking these premises into account, as well as the municipal master plan, the Ecoville was designed accordingly to the inverted stilt system, thus guaranteeing subsistence, connection, communication and protection. The Ecoville consists of a set of housing modules built by the community, which will inhabit them, from recycled materials.
